People sometimes think that the type of alcohol they consume makes a difference in how drunk they get, but this is a myth. The reality is that the amount of alcohol consumed determines the impact on the body, so any type of drinking can then lead to DUI charges for those who drink and drive.
The important thing to note is that different types of drinks do have more or less alcohol. For example, a beer may be 6.5 percent alcohol, which is often written right on the bottle, while wine may be 13 percent alcohol. If the same amount of each liquid was consumed by two people, the person drinking the beer may feel less drunk. However, this is not due to the fact that they’re drinking beer, but due to the fact that they’ve actually consumed less alcohol and more water than the person drinking wine.
How drunk someone feels is dependent on how quickly the body can process the alcohol. This means that time and time alone can help someone get sober. People may think that working out, taking a shower or drinking a cup of coffee can sober them up more quickly and make it safe to drive, but those are also myths. They simply need to wait until enough time has gone by, based on how much alcohol they consumed.
